Mark Sanchez, the former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst, filed a motion on Thursday, Sept. 3, to plead guilty in Indianapolis in the case centered on a violent altercation with a truck driver last year, according to Marion County (Ind.) court records.
It was not immediately clear what charges to which Sanchez planned to plead guilty. He also requested a sentencing hearing.
A jury trial had been scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8, after five postponements. Sanchez had faced several charges, including felony battery resulting in serious bodily injury.
In October 2025, Sanchez was arrested after allegedly assaulting a truck driver, who said he stabbed Sanchez in self-defense. Sanchez was in Indianapolis to broadcast a Las Vegas Raiders
at Indianapolis Colts game for Fox Sports, which parted ways with him in November 2025.
Sanchez was initially charged with misdemeanor battery resulting in injury, public intoxication and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle. Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears later announced an added felony charge of battery resulting in serious bodily injury. If convicted on the felony charge, Sanchez could have been sentenced to between one and six years in prison.
