Florida State will reportedly be without running back Ousmane Kromah for the remainder of the season.
According to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, Kromah will be sidelined for the rest of the Seminoles' season due to a foot and ankle injury he sustained in the Seminoles' 43-35 double overtime loss to Miami at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on Saturday, Oct. 17.
The injury occurred at the end of a 9-yard carry in the second quarter, when he landed awkwardly on the field after being taken down by Hurricanes linebacker Chase Smith.
The 6-foot-1 running back attempted to limp his way off the field and to the Seminoles sidelines, but went down to the ground,
prompting members of Florida State's medical staff to come out and tend to him on the field. He was eventually carted off the field while wearing an air cast.
As noted by the Tallahassee Democrat, part of the USA TODAY Network, Kromah's injury is the latest hit to the Seminoles' running back unit. Entering Saturday's game vs. Miami, Florida State lost running back Samuel Singleton Jr. during its loss to Alabama in Week 3. Germari Sands departed from the program earlier this month.
The Seminoles nearly came away with a top-five win on the road as Ashton Daniels and Co. went toe-to-toe with Darian Mensah and the Hurricanes. However, Florida State fell short in double overtime amid some controversy, as officials ruled what looked to be a 46-yard touchdown from Daniels to Duce Robinson an interception.
With the loss, Florida State fell to 3-4 overall on the season and 1-3 in ACC play. The Seminoles are on bye in Week 8 before hosting Clemson on Saturday, Oct. 31 in Tallahassee.
