Lindsay Lohan is seeing red once again. But it may not stick around.
The actress transformed her hair back to her red roots, she unveiled in an Aug. 4 Instagram post.
The carousel of photos, which included shots of Lohan posing in a robe on a gray couch, was aptly captioned with a red heart emoji.
But the look may not be around for long. According to posts from her glam team, Lohan is apparently wearing a wig in the photos.
Lohan, who turned 40 last month, became known for her signature auburn locks early in her career.
While she's continued rocking the red in many of her recent on-screen roles, Lohan has sported a blonde hairdo off-screen over the past couple years.

felt "natural" for her at the time.
“Obviously, I'm a natural redhead so that's what I compare every hair color to," she told the outlet.

While Lohan debuted her fresh look with a simple emoji, her glam team reveled in the red while appearing to reveal that it was actually a wig.
Danielle Priano, the hairstylist behind the look, shared a photo of Lohan on Instagram with the caption, "New hair!!"
Priano tagged wig brand What Wigs in the post. On its Instagram, What Wigs said Lohan was wearing one of the brand's creations.
Ash K Holm, who did Lohan's makeup for the photos, also wrote on her Instagram story, "I lovvve Lindsay with her natural hair color."

Either way, in Lohan's comment section, fans praised the transformation.
"The most iconic redhead in pop culture," one person wrote.
Another wrote, "I love how you can rock every haircolor , but I feel red is the most Iconic."
"SHES RED AGAIN! The most famous red head IN THE WORLD!!!" one user added.
While emphasizing the look may be temporary, another user wrote, "this is your color!"
"Just wear a blonde wig when you want to be blonde!" they added.
