Popular R&B artist Jacquees was arrested in Florida on charges including DUI and battery, according to police.
The 32-year-old singer and songwriter, whose real name is Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax, was taken into custody in Hollywood, Florida, just before 8 a.m. Sept. 27. Deputies went to the scene after receiving a call about a person “passed out” inside their vehicle, according to a statement Hollywood Police provided USA TODAY Network-Florida.
While being transported to the hospital, Broadnax “became combative with first responders,” police said. He’s facing charges of battery on an officer, firefighter or EMT, DUI alcohol or drugs and resisting without violence.

He has more than 5.6 million Instagram followers and is currently on tour for a new album. The artist’s next tour date is in Atlanta on Oct. 4 followed by Pensacola, Florida, on Oct. 18.
A history of legal woes
The incident wasn't the first time the singer has faced legal issues.
Jacquees was previously arrested in Georgia in June 2023 following an altercation at a bar near the Mall of Georgia. According to an arrest warrant obtained by USA TODAY, witnesses told police that the singer appeared intoxicated, argued with security and allegedly choked a female employee and bit her hand.
Police later found Jacquees in a nearby parking lot, where authorities said he refused to cooperate and tried to run before an officer used a stun gun. He was charged with simple battery and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and released on $3,700 bond.
In 2018, Atlanta police arrested the Georgia native on charges including speeding and possession of a controlled substances after officers said they clocked him driving 116 mph and watched him toss a joint out of his Bentley.
That same month, authorities detained and cited Jacquees for disorderly conduct at Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport. And in March that same year, police arrested Jacquees on Miami Beach for failure to obey an officer and disorderly conduct.
