Improved protection will be especially important against a Philadelphia front built to rotate pass rushers and create pressure without heavy blitzing. Tennessee also will look for more balance after recording only 14 rushing attempts in its opener.
A productive running game could keep the Eagles' defensive line from concentrating solely on Ward. The matchup brings together an Eagles team trying to build on a narrow divisional victory and a Titans team working to settle into head coach Robert Saleh's system.

If the Eagles take this game seriously, it'll be a walk in the park. Fresh off a narrow divisional win over the Commanders, Jalen Hurts enters an even more advantageous spot against a Titans team that honestly may flirt with a winless season if its opener was any indication of what's to come. Saquon Barkley draws a soft run defense that surrendered 142 yards on 32 carries to Jets backs and should give Philadelphia's offense balance against a Tennessee front that generated little pressure. As for the Titans, yeesh. Cam Ward managed just 140 passing yards, was pressured on 41% of his dropbacks and took three sacks. Now he must brace himself for an even more ferocious defensive front. Not great, considering his offensive line already showed it may not be able to block.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: Eagles 26, Titans 7
Tennessee's only hope for staying relevant in this matchup might be Jeffery Simmons creating havoc against the Eagles' vulnerable and shorthanded interior offensive line. Otherwise, a Philadelphia offense that remains under construction probably doesn't need to make significant strides this week. Explosive plays will likely be few and far between for Cam Ward, and the Titans lack the patience and efficiency required to crack Vic Fangio's defense. Things could get particularly ugly up front, with Philadelphia's robust and disruptive line potentially detonating plays not long after they start.
Nate Davis: Eagles 24, Titans 20
Both offenses are under new management and experienced mixed results in the opener, though Philly's were better and sufficient to win. But the Eagles have a clear advantage in the matchup between DC Vic Fangio and second-year Titans QB Cam Ward, who didn't generate much through the air in Week 1 against what's probably a middling-at-best Jets defense. Still, this does seem to be something of a classic trap game for Philadelphia, which faces four 2025 division champions in the four weeks following their trip to Nashville, and might wind up closer than some expect.
Richard Morin: Eagles 28, Titans 14
I picked the Titans to turn some heads in their Week 1 opener against the Jets, but it was a disappointing start to the 2026 season for Tennessee. I don't see how that changes in a Week 2 bout against the Eagles, who prevailed on Sunday despite an offense that has undergone significant changes. Jalen Hurts looked solid and I've got him as a dark-hors MVP contender this season. I don't see this one being particularly close.

Martin Frank writes: The Titans actually have three things working in their favor. The first is the heat. It's expected to be 95 degrees and humid. The second is that the Eagles are 0-3 in Nashville, including a 23-20 OT loss in the last meeting in 2018. The third is that Titans DT Jeffery Simmons will line up against Drew Kendall, who is Landon Dickerson's replacement. None of that is enough to beat the Eagles. But it might not be a pretty Eagles' win, either.
