It's down to the final four in the U.S. Open mixed doubles tournament.
In Wednesday night's first semifinal, husband and wife Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils — who is making his 18th and final US appearance — will take on Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli, who defeated fan favorites Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinal.
In the other semifinal, Karolina Muchova and Jakub Mensik will battle Mirra Andreeva and Andrey Rublev. The tournament's winner will take home $1 million.
Each semifinal match will be best of three sets, and to win a set, a team needs to win four games. Ties at four games apiece will result in a tiebreaker. Also, it's different when there is a deuce in a game. There won't be an advantage score, so the next point
after deuce wins the game; second-set ties result in a 10-point tiebreak.
The final will be a best-of-three-set match, with sets to six games (tie-break at six-all), no-advantage scoring, and a 10-point tie-break in lieu of a third set.
