Aaron Donald is returning to the Los Angeles Rams after a three-year retirement, he announced in an Instagram post on Sunday, Aug 30.
The addition of Donald, a 10-time Pro Bowler, eight-time first team All-Pro and three-time AP Defensive Player of the Year, to an already stacked Rams
roster instantly makes them odds-on Super Bowl favorites. And in Madden 27, their roster is starting to look unbeatable. The Rams already boast two members of the coveted 99 Club this year in reigning MVP Matthew Stafford and Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. Puka Nacua follows closely behind at 98 overall. Where does Donald fit into that picture? We likely won't know until he's added in the next roster update, which usually drops on Thursdays, but history
tells us he'll likely be somewhere in that grouping.
Donald has been rated 99 overall a record seven times from 2017 until his retirement after the 2023 season. He hasn't suited up in an NFL game in four years at this point, but name recognition alone suggests he'll still be rated highly by the devs at EA Sports.
And for their part, EA has leaned into the intrigue surrounding Donald's return, asking fans on Sunday to guess what the future Hall of Famer's rating will be in Madden 27.
