Collabs and merchandise inspired by "One Piece," the Japanese manga later adapted into an anime, seem to be everywhere. Next up is Nike.
"We were inspired by the superhuman abilities that are unleashed when One Piece characters eat the Devil Fruits, much like the feeling an athlete has when they put on a pair of Nikes," Nick Remlinger, general manager for Energy Gaming and Pre-Order at Nike, said in a statement. "We then started reimagining the beloved Air Max Plus in a way that fans of the silhouette have never seen before."
In August, Nike announced it would launch the collection, which includes footwear, T-shirts, jerseys, caps and a vest, all inspired by the anime "One Piece."
The Nike x One Piece has been a staggered rollout with different
shoes and items releasing on different dates in different parts of the world.
Here's what fans in the U.S. should know if they are looking to get their hands on the collection.

The collection is set to be released Friday, Sept. 25
What sneakers are included in the entire Nike x One Piece collection?
The following Air Max Plus sneakers are included in the full Nike x One Piece collection, according to an online Nike news release:
- The Gomu Gomu Air Max Plus (a.k.a. Gomu Gomu no Mi)
- The Mera Mera Air Max Plus (a.k.a. Mera Mera no Mi)
- The Ope Ope Air Max Plus (a.k.a. Ope Ope no Mi)
The sneakers are made to look like what's called Devil Fruit in "One Piece," which can give people supernatural powers.
How can I get the Gomu Gomu Air Max Plus sneakers?
The Gomu Gomu Air Max Plus is the only sneaker that is a part of the Friday, Sept. 25, launch in the United States. It will be available for preorder through what's called SNKRS Reserve. This also applies to Japan and select European countries. SNKRS is Nike's platform for the most sought-after sneaker releases, which can be accessed through the app or website using your Nike member login.
Some were lucky enough to get a chance at buying the sneakers first. Those selected completed a poll on the SNKRS home feed, which ran from Aug. 23 to Sept. 18, and then were told via push notification if they were chosen. According to Nike, a window for those people will be available starting at 11 a.m. ET on Sept. 25 and will last for one hour, during which they can purchase only one pair in an available size. After that hour is up, other fans who were not preselected will get a crack at trying to snag a pair. They just need to be signed in.
China, Mexico and Australia can get the shoe through a standard SNKRS launch, while in Korea they will be available through exclusive access on SNKRS.
How much will the Gomu Gomu Air Max Plus sneakers cost in the US?
An official listing for the shoe is not yet on Nike's U.S. page. However, looking at what it has been priced in other countries, the shoe will likely be around $180-$200.

Mera Mera Air Max Plus
The Mera Mera Air Max Plus will be available for purchase in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Mexico, but not the United States. Starting Sept. 12, the sneakers were sold only at select locations in those countries. Nike also says the sneakers will be available for purchase in Australia from Oct. 16 to Oct. 18.
Ope Ope Air Max Plus
But those looking to purchase the Ope Ope Air Max Plus may already be too late. The sneakers were only available for purchase Sept. 19 at select retailers in the United States and Europe.
What should I do if I can't get sneakers in the Nike x One Piece collection?
If you miss out on the Gomu Gomu Air Max Plus sneakers or want the sneakers that weren't released in the United States, you can go the resell route through online marketplaces, but be sure they are reputable and verified.
What apparel is included in the Nike x One Piece collection?
Outside of the Air Max Plus sneakers, the collection will also include apparel inspired by the manga and anime. The apparel collection will be available worldwide on SNKRS on Sept. 25, according to Nike.
On the back of one T-shirt design is the poorly drawn Jolly Roger that Luffy drew on his whale friend, Laboon, in Episode 63 of the anime and Chapter 105 of the manga, with the Nike logo below it. On the front of the shirt is the One Piece logo with the Nike swoosh behind it.
The collection will also include other shirts, hats and an orange vest with the Straw Hat's Jolly Roger and the Nike logo on the chest.
Prices for these items will vary and are available on the SNRKS app.
Other 'One Piece' collabs
This isn't the first collaboration between "One Piece" and brands popular in America.
Popeye's unveiled a "One Piece"-inspired menu and merchandise in April, which was a huge hit with fans of the future King of the Pirates. In April, Lego also released new sets inspired by the second season of Netflix's live-action adaptation of "One Piece." It included sets of characters, locations and ships. Then most recently on Sept. 15, McDonald's launched its SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal, which features toys of "SpongeBob SquarePants" characters dressed as "One Piece" characters.
