Food Network star Ree Drummond's son has been arrested in Alabama after police accused him of striking an officer and possessing methamphetamine.
Jamar Goff, 23, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, Alabama, at 2:30 a.m. Sept. 15, according to an online inmate record.
He faces four charges: second-degree aggravated assault of a police officer, attempting to elude police, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The jail record lists his total bond at $37,000 and identifies him as a pretrial inmate. No release date or court date was listed as of Sept. 24.USA TODAY has reached out to the Jefferson County Jail, the Birmingham Police Department and Drummond for additional information.
According to TMZ, which cited court documents, a Birmingham police officer encountered Goff after responding to a report of a suspicious person on the University of Alabama campus.
The officer allegedly found Goff shirtless and asleep near a fountain. Goff reportedly told the officer he was waiting for someone to sell him "ice," a street name for methamphetamine.
The officer initially told Goff to leave the area but later discovered that he had an outstanding arrest warrant, according to the documents. When officers located him again and attempted to take him into custody, Goff allegedly ran and eventually reached a nearby hospital.
Goff is accused of striking an officer with an open palm during the encounter. Police also alleged that they recovered a glass pipe from his backpack and found approximately 1.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine on him.

Goff joined Ree and Ladd Drummond's family as a foster son in 2018.
Ree Drummond, who is known for her "Pioneer Woman" cooking show, cookbooks and lifestyle brand, has previously said Goff met the family through her sons Bryce and Todd, who played football with him.
"Fostering a kid was never something Ladd and I pursued or felt called to do, but Jamar's circumstances presented themselves to us in a way we couldn't ignore," Drummond wrote in her book, Frontier Follies. "Long story short, all six foot five inches of him showed up at our house one afternoon, bag in hand, ready to move in."
The family grew closer to Goff after he was seriously injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident on the Drummonds' property and required surgery and an extended recovery, Drummond shared in her book.
Goff later played college football for the University of Central Oklahoma beginning in 2021. Drummond made the announcement on her Instagram.

Goff was taken into custody in May 2025 after allegedly biting the hand of a detention or correctional officer, according to reports by TMZ.
The documents reportedly listed a phone number connected to Drummond as Goff's family contact and identified her as his foster parent.
