Apple has announced the date of its next big event, set for Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
The tech event, which has the tagline "Surprise and shine," will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park in Cupertino, California, and will be streamed on apple.com.
Apple did not release any information about what will be revealed at the event. But there's growing expectation for the debut of the first foldable iPhone, along with the introduction of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max smartphones.
Apple may not release the foldable iPhone at the same time as its new iPhone 18 phones, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested, and reported by MacRumors and CNET.
Kuo estimated the cost of the foldable
iPhone, thought to be called iPhone Ultra, at $2,300 to $2,500, in a post on social media platform X in July.
Also rumored: A new Apple TV streaming box and new Airpods.
The Sept. 9 event will also be the first product event for new CEO John Ternus, who will take over for Tim Cook as of Sept. 1. Temus, who has been with Apple for 25 years, is the current senior vice president of hardware engineering.
