Lionel Messi seemingly broke the rules of geometry by converting a free kick for a goal from an absurd angle in Inter Miami's match against the Columbus Crew at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday, Sept. 27.

The moment occurred in the 33rd minute, when Messi lined up between the 18-yard box and the corner flag and booted the ball over the outstretched arms of Crew goalkeeper Patrick Schulte. It was diabolical, with Messi going directly for goal from the near-impossible angle versus setting it up for a header from one his teammates stationed inside the 18-yard box The goal tied up the score at 1-1 after Josef Martínez scored the opener on a penalty kick in the 28th minute.

Messi's goal on Major League Soccer's "Sunday Night Soccer" was his fourth in his last four matches with Inter Miami. That goal-scoring run included Messi scoring his 100th goal for Inter Miami in a Campeones Cup win over Liga MX's Cruz Azul on Sept. 16.
