Claressa Shields steps into the ring for her second fight of the year to defend her WBA and WBC women’s middleweight titles, facingAustralia’s Kaye Scott at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Saturday, August 15.
Shields boasts a record of 18 wins, no losses, and three knockouts. Shields is currently the undisputed women’s heavyweight champion and will drop three weight classes, moving from heavyweight to middleweight for the first time since 2023.
Shields competed in her last four bouts at heavyweight and 174 pounds, and last appeared in the ring in February, when she successfully defended her undisputed heavyweight championship in a rematch against Franchon Crews Dezurn.
Scott, who turned professional in 2023, steps into the ring with a record of five
wins, one draw, and one loss. Although relatively new to the pro circuit, she has already seen success in the middleweight division, previously holding two world titles.
Scott began her career with a string of victories before experiencing her first defeat against Desley Robinson in December 2024. She bounced back with a majority draw against Olivia Curry in September 2025.
