This is tough. The Rams are playing on a short week, traveling into the Denver altitude and increasingly likely to be without Puka Nacua against an improving defense. Still, Davante Adams proved Matthew Stafford has another reliable weapon, catching eight passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns as Los Angeles outgained the Giants 481-182. Denver finished strong against Jacksonville and finally unleashed Jaylen Waddle, but its top three running backs are all banged up. Ultimately, I trust Stafford and Sean McVay more than Bo Nix and Sean Payton in a close game. McVay is 3-1 both straight-up and ATS against Payton, and laying less than a field goal makes the Rams the side.

Getting points with the
home team at Mile High is enough to get my attention, especially with the Rams coming off a Monday night game. Los Angeles has a short week before traveling to Denver. The altitude is a legitimate factor late in games, and it can wear down visiting teams that aren't accustomed to playing at elevation. Even Aaron Donald, despite being one of the greatest defensive linemen ever, will have to deal with the thin air after returning from a two-year absence. The Rams have plenty of firepower, but this is a difficult spot on the road, with Pat Surtain ready for the task at hand, whether that's Davante Adams or Puka Nacua. Denver keeps this within a field goal.

Something still isn't right with the Rams. It's hard to take much out of their victory against the Giants, considering Jaxson Dart left with an injury on the first drive. Still, L.A. looked out of sorts before Dart got hurt. The Rams have more work to do if they want to enter the circle of trust, especially with Myles Garrett injured and Puka Nacua's status still uncertain. The Broncos appeared to find their identity again last week. They can definitely keep this within a field goal on Sunday night, if not win outright.

The points matter here. Especially because the Rams aren't as good as beating a deflated Giants team looked, and the Broncos aren't as bad as losing to the Chiefs in Week 1 felt. I may flip my pick if Puka Nacua actually plays, but even then, how effective can he be? The offseason champion Rams have run into reality.
