Country singer Bailey Zimmerman is taking a break from the stage to work on his personal life.
The multiplatinum singer-songwriter revealed that he is canceling his upcoming European tour
in an Instagram post Thursday, July 30. Zimmerman, 26, will not perform 10 shows on the next leg of his Different Night Same Rodeo Tour, which were scheduled to take place between Aug. 27 and Sept. 12 in the U.K., Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Norway."I wanted to let you all know personally that I unfortunately have to cancel my U.K./Europe shows," Zimmerman wrote. "This was not an easy decision, and it kills me to have to cancel because I know how excited everyone is… but right now I need to take this time to focus on important family matters."
The "Chevy Silverado" singer added that "everything is OK, it's just my family needs my attention and that's what I've got to do."
Zimmerman said he would still perform his remaining shows in August as scheduled. They include an Aug. 6 date in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, as well as stops in Wisconsin on Aug. 8 and his home state of Illinois on Aug. 14. After those concerts, the singer shared that he would be "taking some more time to focus on me, my family and new music."
"Once again, I'm so sorry to everybody that has waited so long… I hope y'all can understand that my family has to come first," Zimmerman concluded. "Thank you for having my back on this crazy ride we call life."
The news follows other show cancelations earlier in the year. Zimmerman canceled a show in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on May 27 a few hours before he was scheduled to take the stage. The incident led to a pair of criminal charges, which were later dropped, after the country star was accused of causing damage to his hotel room. Zimmerman also cut short his July 26 show at the Delaware State Fair due to a power outage.
The Different Night Same Rodeo Tour, Zimmerman's first arena tour, began in February and has visited more than two dozen cities across the U.S. and Canada. The musical trek is named after the singer's second album of the same name.
Zimmerman still has a series of U.S. fair and festival dates set for September, according the singer's official website. And he is scheduled to visit Australia for five shows in October. Tickets for those dates are still available.
