John Owen Lowe is sharing a message about hope as his family mourns the death of his 13-year-old cousin, Fiona Lowe.
The actor and writer, 30, who is Rob Lowe's son, posted Emily Dickinson's poem "Hope
Is the Thing With Feathers" on his Instagram stories following Fiona Lowe's death.
"Hope is the thing with feathers / That perches in the soul, / And sings the tune without the words, / And never stops at all," the poem begins.
The image Lowe shared showed the poem in full on a page titled "Hope," without an added caption. Dickinson's verses portray hope as a bird whose song persists through storms and hardship.

Fiona Lowe's family remembers her love of dance
Fiona Lowe was the daughter of actor-director Chad Lowe, Rob Lowe's younger brother, and his wife, Kim Painter.
The couple announced her death in a Sept. 29 statement to People, remembering her as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance."
Her parents said she was cherished by her sisters and called her "the light of our lives." They asked for prayers and privacy and encouraged anyone experiencing mental health struggles to seek support.

Fiona Lowe died Sept. 29 in a hospital. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner determined her manner of death was suicide.
She was the second of Chad Lowe and Painter's three daughters, between Mabel, 17, and Nixie Barbara, 10.
Fiona Lowe's family share tributes
Fiona's Lowe's older sister, Mabel Lowe, 17, also honored her in an Oct. 3 Instagram tribute, sharing childhood photos and a video of the sisters dancing together while Fiona Lowe wore a butterfly costume.
"I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive," Mabel wrote. "I love you, i hope you knew just how much."
John Owen's post followed a Sept. 30 tribute from Fiona Lowe's grandfather, Charles "Chuck" Lowe. The father of Chad and Rob Lowe shared a photograph of Fiona Lowee smiling in a swimming pool.
"Rest in peace sweet Fiona," he wrote.
