The Pumpkin Spice Latte is back.
The popular seasonal beverage has become an annual rite of late summer since Starbucks introduced the beverage in 2003. Over the last two decades, customers have looked forward to the PSL's return.
The PSL is made with real pumpkin flavor, pumpkin-related spices (including cinnamon, nutmeg and clove), Starbucks Signature Espresso and steamed milk. The drink is topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices and is available hot, iced or blended.
As a way to celebrate, Starbucks tapped Martha Stewart and Belmont Cameli to help usher in PSL season with a promo video released on Monday, Aug. 24.
This year, the PSL, in addition to the rest of Starbucks' fall menu, arrives in coffeehouses on Tuesday, Aug. 25, according
to the coffee chain.
What else is on Starbucks' fall menu?
The fall menu at Starbucks will feature an "expanded lineup of new pumpkin spice drinks" in addition to pecan, banana and chai-inspired beverages, according to the coffee chain.
In addition to the Pumpkin Spice Latte, pumpkin fans can enjoy a new Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso, a new Pumpkin Spice Chai and Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha. Returning favorites such as the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai and Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino will also be available beginning Aug. 25.
Starbucks is also expanding its banana-inspired lineup with two new beverages the company says are inspired by freshly baked banana bread – the Iced Banana Bread Latte and Iced Banana Bread Chai. Both beverages combine banana, cinnamon and brown sugar flavors to "create dessert-like notes reminiscent of warm baked treats," according to Starbucks, and will be available beyond the fall season.
Also beginning Aug. 25, customers can enjoy a new Chaider beverage from Starbucks. The drink is a "cozy twist on chai," according to the company, with cider-inspired flavors such as cinnamon and sweet spice and can be enjoyed hot or iced.
New food items will also be available as part of the fall menu, including a Chicken Bacon Protein Pocket, a Hedgehog Cake Pop and the returning Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin.
