The Milwaukee Brewers are up two games en route to their first-ever World Series win, but the games have priced out a lot of Brewers fans. Fans can actually attend Game 3 in St. Petersburg, Fla. cheaper, travel included, than attending a potential Game 6.
There are more expenses when you travel. You have to book a flight, you need somewhere to sleep. But, in this case, it's still cheaper to attend the World Series in Florida than it is in Milwaukee. Fans can book a roundtrip flight that leaves Milwaukee on Monday and returns on Wednesday, stay in a hotel just a few miles from the stadium and grab World Series Game 3 tickets and still spend $1,500 less than attending any World Series game at American Family Field.
Here's the math:
- World Series Game 3 ticket in Florida: $603
- Roundtrip flight from Milwaukee to Tampa: $535
- Two-night stay at a hotel in St. Petersburg: $146
- Trip total: $1,284
The standing room
only price to get into American Family Field for a potential Game 6 is starting at $2,731, and you don't even get a seat. At those prices, you could even splurge on better seats!
Here's a look at how to save on a once-in-a-lifetime World Series trip to Florida:

Get Milwaukee Brewers vs. Tampa Bay Rays World Series tickets starting at $603
The Rays are down and so are World Series ticket prices for Tropicana Field. When the Rays advanced, Game 3 tickets were well over $900. Now, Game 3 tickets are just over $600.
Last-minute flights to Tampa, Fla. are starting at $530
I browsed Expedia for you. Unfortunately, nothing came up for a roundtrip flight from Milwaukee to St. Petersburg, Fla., but you can fly into Tampa, but it's less than a 30-minute drive, so that's not a terrible swap.
If you're leaving Sunday, there were still a few flights available, starting at $547. Here's a look at flights leaving early this week to make it to at least one of the two confirmed games at Tropicana Field:
- Monday, Oct. 25 - Roundtrip flights starting at $530
- Tuesday, Oct. 26 - Roundtrip flights starting at $545
- Wednesday, Oct. 27 - Roundtrip flights starting at $535 *only if a Game 5 if necessary.
The good news is, the cheapest flights were also nonstop, although some layovers did exist on other options. Prices didn't vary much between Southwest and Delta.

Hotels near the World Series are starting at $72/night
Hotels in St. Petersburg are not expensive. In fact, a quick search on Expedia tells me that hotels are starting at $72 per night on Monday and slightly cheaper for Tuesday night.
The cheapest option was the Days Inn by Wyndham St. Petersburg / Tampa Bay Area and a two-night stay would be approximately $146.
