What's Happening?
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has announced its collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to support drug control efforts and provide agricultural opportunities for drug users undergoing rehabilitation. Minister Abubakar Kyari assured NDLEA's Chairman, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa, of the ministry's commitment to creating alternatives for illicit drug producers and integrating rehabilitated individuals into agricultural programs. This initiative is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on food security and national security. The NDLEA aims to persuade cannabis growers to switch to legitimate crops, with support from the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs.
