UK Ministry of Defence to Acquire Additional Land Ceptor Launchers for Enhanced Air Defense

What's Happening?

The UK Ministry of Defence has announced plans to purchase six more Land Ceptor launchers from MBDA for its Sky Sabre air-defense systems. This GBP118 million (USD158 million) contract aims to double the number of deployable Sky Sabre systems operated by the armed forces. The Sky Sabre system, known as Enhanced Modular Air Defence Solutions (EMADS), includes a Rafael Surface-to-Air Missile Operation Centre for command-and-control, a Saab Giraffe Agile Multi Beam radar, and MBDA Land Ceptor launchers. The system can guide 24 Common Anti-Air Modular Missiles (CAMM) simultaneously, with a maximum range of 28 km, and can also fire the CAMM-ER with a 45 km range.
