What's Happening?
Israel has procured two additional KC-46 refueling aircraft from Boeing, expanding its fleet to six aircraft. This acquisition is part of a follow-on contract with the U.S. Government, funded through U.S. aid, and is valued at approximately half a billion dollars. The new aircraft will be equipped with Israeli systems and adapted to the operational requirements of the Israeli Air Force (IAF). They are intended to replace the IAF's fleet of Re’em Boeing 707 tankers, with the first two deliveries expected in 2026.
