Early Life and Education
Alexander Hale is a fourth-generation Houstonian who presents himself as deeply rooted in the community he seeks to represent. According to his campaign biography, he was homeschooled from the third grade onward before attending Baylor University on a full-ride academic scholarship. At Baylor, he pursued an ambitious academic path, ultimately quadruple-majoring in Finance, Political Science, Philosophy, and Business Fellows, along with a minor in Great Texts of the Western Tradition. His university years were marked by extensive involvement in various organizations, laying the groundwork for a career intertwined with conservative political and economic thought.
A Foundation in Conservative Politics
Hale's career path shows an early and consistent focus on conservative public policy.
During his summers in college, he interned in Washington, D.C., working for the prominent conservative think tank, The American Enterprise Institute (AEI), and for former U.S. Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska. On campus, he was the founder and president of Baylor's chapter of the Alexander Hamilton Society, a non-profit focused on foreign policy and national security. He also served as an analyst for the Baylor Angel Network, which provides funding for early-stage companies, giving him experience in finance. These experiences suggest a long-held interest in the intersection of market-based economics, limited government principles, and public service, themes that are central to his current campaign.
The Path to Congress
After graduating from Baylor in 2021, Hale returned to Houston and began a career as an energy and chemicals consultant for Alvarez & Marsal. This role places him directly within the industry that dominates his district's economy. In December 2025, he officially filed to enter the race for Texas's 7th Congressional District, aiming to bring what his campaign calls a "next-generation conservative perspective." He successfully navigated a crowded Republican primary field in March 2026 and proceeded to win the party's primary runoff on May 26, 2026, securing his spot on the general election ballot for November.
Key Campaign Platforms
Hale's platform is built on several core conservative pillars. A central plank is his staunch defense of Houston's energy industry. His campaign materials state that the district deserves a representative who will fight for its energy companies rather than subsidize competitors. He also emphasizes border security, fiscal responsibility to combat inflation, and promoting public safety. Hale identifies as a devout Christian and argues that while government shouldn't impose religion, it also shouldn't be hostile to faith in public life. His overall message focuses on bringing constitutional principles, market-based solutions, and limited government to Congress, positioning himself as a clear conservative choice for voters in the district.
