Hour-long sessions on the treadmill or elliptical are great for cardiovascular health, but they’re only one piece of the metabolic puzzle. Overlooking strength training is a major misstep. Muscle tissue is more metabolically active than fat tissue, meaning it burns more calories even when you’re at rest. When you lose weight through diet alone or with only cardio, you risk losing valuable muscle mass along with fat, which can lower your overall metabolic rate. Skipping Meals to 'Save' Calories

Skimping on Sleep
