
Stock Market Closing Today, September 29, 2025: Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rebounded in early trade on Monday (Sep 29) after registering
a sharp fall last week, amid value-buying at lower levels and a firm trend in global markets. However, benchmark indices ended in red when the market closed. The market witnessed volatility amid caution ahead of RBI MPC meeting and fall in consumer durables and media stocks. Last week, the BSE benchmark tanked 2,199.77 points or 2.66 per cent and the NSE Nifty dropped 672.35 points or 2.65 per cent.
Stock Market Closing Today On September 29, 2025
On Monday, September 29, the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex lost 61.52 points or 0.08 per cent to close at 80364.94. The NSE Nifty went down by 19.80 points or 0.08 per cent to close at 24634.90.The Nifty Bank index, which tracks the movement top 12 listed banks of the country, closed 71.65 points or 0.13 per cent up at 54,461.
From the broader market, Nifty Midcap 100 index closed 0.27 per cent higher, while Nifty Smallcap 100 index settled 0.07 per cent down.
Among sectoral indices, 8 indices settles in red, while 9 saw a green ending.
Nifty Auto declined 0.18 per cent, while Media index went down by 0.85 per cent.
Pharma index fell 0.15 per cent. IT settles 0.03 per cent down.
PSU Bank closed 1.78 per cent higher. Realty went up by 0.88 per cent. Oil & Gas index too settled in green above 1.35 per cent.

Sensex Gainers and Losers Today
From Sensex pack, 15 constituents settled in red. HDFC Bank, SBI, Titan Company, Eterna and M&M were among gainers on Sensex. ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, L&T, Bharti Airtel and Maruti Suzuki were among laggards.Nifty 50: Nifty Gainers And Losers Today
From Nifty 50, 26 shares moved upwards and settled in green. IndusInd Bank, Titan Company, Hindalco, SBI, Wipro and NTPC were among top gainers. Maruti Suzuki, Axis Bank, Dr Reddy's, HDFC Life, Eicher Motors and Adani Enterprises were among top laggards.Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 5,687.58 crore on Friday, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought stocks worth Rs 5,843.21 crore, according to exchange data.
On Friday, the Sensex tanked 733.22 points or 0.90 per cent to settle at 80,426.46. The Nifty tumbled 236.15 points or 0.95 per cent to an over three-week low of 24,654.70.
