Silver Price Today, April 22: Silver prices rose over 1 per cent on Wednesday, April 22, on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) after US President Donald

In global markets, spot silver gained 1.8 per cent (USD 1.4) to USD 78.07, recovering after extending losses in the previous session. US President Donald Trump announced on the social media platform Truth Social that the United States has extended its ceasefire with Iran, citing internal divisions within the Iranian government and a request from Pakistan’s leadership. In his statement, Trump said that Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had asked Washington to delay military action until Iran’s leaders could present a unified proposal. Brent crude futures were down 1 per cent, while WTI was down 0.6 per cent, though prices were still hovering close to the USD 100 level. A decline in oil prices supports gold, as it reduces inflation expectations in the economy. This, in turn, increases the likelihood of interest rate cuts, creating a favourable environment for silver and other precious metals.
