What is the story about?
Shriram Asset Management Company Limited (Shriram AMC), part of the Shriram Group, has launched the Shriram Money Market Fund, an open-ended debt scheme, to broaden its fixed income product suite.
The fund’s new fund offer (NFO) will open on January 19, and close on January 21. It will invest in money market instruments with residual maturities of up to one year, including commercial papers, certificates of deposit, treasury bills, repos and reverse repos in government securities, and other short-term instruments permitted by SEBI and RBI.
The scheme aims to provide regular income with low interest rate risk, moderate credit risk, and high liquidity. Its performance will be benchmarked against the NIFTY Money Market Index A-I Total Return Index (TRI).
Investors can participate through lump-sum investments or systematic investment plans (SIPs). The minimum investment is ₹1,000, with subsequent investments in multiples of Re. 1. The scheme has no exit load, and redemption proceeds are expected within three business days. It is available under direct and regular plans, with a growth option.
The launch comes amid growing demand for money market funds, which offer short-term liquidity and relatively stable returns. According to AMFI, assets under management in money market funds increased from ₹1.11 lakh crore in Q4 2022 to ₹3.57 lakh crore in November 2025.
Shriram AMC said the fund complements its existing debt offerings, including the Shriram Overnight Fund and Shriram Liquid Fund, and strengthens its fixed income capabilities following the appointment of Amit Modani as Senior Fund Manager – Lead Fixed Income in October 2025.
