What is the story about?
Jio Financial Services Limited (JFSL) has introduced a tax planning and filing module on its JioFinance app, offering both self-service and expert-assisted options. The self-filing plan starts at ₹24, while assisted services begin
at ₹999.
The feature, developed in partnership with TaxBuddy, is designed to simplify income tax return (ITR) filing, help users choose between the old and new tax regimes, and ensure deductions under provisions such as Sections 80C and 80D are not overlooked.
The module includes:
Post-filing, users can monitor return status, track refunds, and receive alerts for tax-related notices within the app. The process involves guided steps for entering income details, uploading documents, and selecting the tax regime, making it accessible even for first-time filers.
JFSL Managing Director and CEO Hitesh Sethia said the integration of the feature aims to remove complexity from tax filing while providing effective planning tools to
help customers manage their tax liabilities year-round.
For assessment year 2025–26, self-filing plans on other popular online tax platforms generally start between ₹199 and ₹499. Expert-assisted plans on these platforms typically range from ₹799 to over ₹2,000, depending on the complexity of the return and the level of support provided, such as CA consultations or notice-handling services.
Some platforms also offer premium packages with personalised tax advisory, which can exceed ₹3,000.
