What is the story about?
Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company (Kotak Mutual Fund) has launched the Kotak Nifty Alpha 50 Index Fund, an open-ended index scheme that replicates or tracks the Nifty Alpha 50 Index.
The New Fund
Offer (NFO) opened on July 28 and will close on August 11.
The Nifty Alpha 50 Index comprises 50 stocks with historically high alpha (excess returns over benchmark), selected from the top 300 listed companies by average free-float market capitalisation and trading turnover over the past six months.
The index is constructed using a rules-based methodology, with stock weights determined by trailing 1-year alpha values.
The scheme aims to offer investors a structured approach to equity investing through a
quantitative model focused on stocks that have shown consistent outperformance relative to broader market benchmarks.
According to Kotak Mutual Fund, the fund is positioned for investors looking for long-term capital growth through disciplined exposure to higher-alpha stocks.
The scheme will be managed by Devender Singhal, Executive Vice President & Fund Manager at Kotak Mahindra AMC.
Kotak Mutual Fund currently manages a wide range of mutual fund schemes catering to different risk profiles and has a presence in over
95 cities through 106 branches, as of March 31.
