SIFs are a new category of investment vehicles introduced to cater to sophisticated investors with higher risk appetite and deep market knowledge. These funds offer more flexibility in their investment strategies, including the ability to take long and short positions, and make extensive use of derivative instruments.
According to the fund house's factsheet, Quant Mutual
Quant stated that, in addition to the equity long-short strategy, it also plans to introduce hybrid SIF strategies in the coming months. The fund house said it will focus on investor education to build awareness around the product's risk-return characteristics and suitability.
The SIF launch comes at a time when market participants are seeking alternative strategies amid heightened global volatility and evolving macroeconomic conditions. Quant emphasized that the new fund will be designed to navigate both rising and falling markets, providing tools for active risk management.
