Delhi is India's Most Credit-Healthy City

Delhi has emerged as India’s most credit-healthy city, according to a new study by Paisabazaar. The capital city recorded the highest proportion of credit-healthy consumers at 46% and an average credit score of 746, placing it ahead

of 710 cities assessed in the report, How India Checked Credit Score.

Pune secured the second position with 44% of participants maintaining an average credit score of 744. Kerala followed with 43% of participants and an average score of 745, while Chandigarh also stood at 43% with an average score of 744.

The findings are based on data from the Credit Premier League (CPL), an online gamified initiative launched by Paisabazaar to boost credit awareness across the country.

Over 4.7 million

participants from 710 cities took part in the 30-day campaign, which aimed to identify both top scorers and the most credit-aware cities in India.

During the contest, five participants from Bangalore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kerala and Pune achieved the highest recorded score of 861 out of 900. An individual from Chennai followed closely with a score of 859.

“Consumers are increasingly engaging with their credit health,” said Santosh Agarwal, CEO, Paisabazaar.

The report also highlighted participation

trends. Mumbai, Hyderabad and Lucknow emerged as the most active cities, together contributing nearly 1.5 million participants. Millennials between the ages of 29 and 44 accounted for more than half of all participants.

Women made up 8% of the total participants, with nearly one-third of them from southern cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
