A rural North Carolina community is reeling after reports of a mass shooting has left multiple people dead and at least one person in the hospital.
On Wednesday, Aug. 5, authorities received a call for
service to a home in Prospect Hill, a rural community about 50 miles northwest of Raleigh, according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. When police arrived, they found multiple people with gunshot wounds and "multiple other fatalities."
Reports indicate at least one person was transported to Duke University Hospital for treatment.
