MARSHALL - A person was injured in an officer-involved shooting Sept. 3 in Marshall when Madison County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to apprehend the person.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office said deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant to a person at 1934 Sandy Mush Road who is wanted for a federal parole violation and felony fleeing to elude.
As deputies were attempting to apprehend the suspect, the person was shot in the left wrist around 9:41 p.m., according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, who is investigating the incident.
The person was transported to Mission Hospital in Asheville.
SBI agents arrived on scene around 11 p.m. Sept. 3 and remained until 6 a.m., according to SBI spokesperson Chad Flowers.
