Week 6 marks the halfway point of the 2026 North Carolina high school fall sports season.
Several Western North Carolina high school boys soccer players have started the season strong, putting them in a good position to contend for All-WNC Player of the Year.
Here are 16 of those players to watch at midseason.
Luke Hughes
Asheville Christian Academy | Forward | Senior
Hughes has recorded 12 goals and eight assists while guiding Asheville Christian Academy to a 7-4 record.
Davis Campbell
Christ School | Forward | Sophomore
Campbell has scored seven goals and added an assist. The Greenies have started 7-1-1 this season.
Oliver King
Christ School | Forward | Junior
King has paced Christ School,
scoring 10 goals while contributing an assist.
Leo Romero
Enka | Forward | Senior
Romero has collected 11 goals and one assist.
Tyson Jackson
Hendersonville | Goalkeeper | Sophomore
Jackson has recorded 74 saves, averaging 8.2 saves per game while allowing only 12 goals.
Adam Schnitzer
Hendersonville | Forward | Senior
Schnitzer has racked up seven goals with eight assists so far this season.
Cristobal Drago
North Buncombe | Forward | Senior
Drago has racked up 12 goals and five assists. North Buncombe has gotten off to a 9-3 start with his help.
Jackson Blotner
Polk County | Forward | Sophomore
Blotner has tallied 10 goals and two assists. He has led the Wolverines to a 7-1-1 record.
Ross Dow
Polk County | Defender | Junior
Dow has helped lead a Polk County defense that has only allowed nine goals. He also has an assist.
Charlie Wagoner
Polk County | Goalkeeper | Senior
Wagoner has made 71 saves while conceding nine goals this season. He is averaging nearly nine saves per game.
Westin Frommel
Reynolds | Forward | Sophomore
Frommel has 11 assists, the 19th-most in North Carolina.
Alex Golovchuk
Reynolds | Forward | Junior
Golovchuk has collected seven goals and eight assists.
John Partridge
Reynolds | Forward | Senior
Partridge has led the Rockets to an 11-0-1 record so far this season. He has scored 19 goals, which is the ninth most in North Carolina.
Matthew Bullock
Roberson | Foward | Senior
Bullock has racked up 12 goals, accounting for more than half of Roberson's 23 goals this season.
Jonathan Antonio
Smoky Mountain | Midfielder | Junior
Antonio has recorded 16 goals and an assist. He has racked up three hat tricks while leading Smoky Mountain to a 9-1-1 record.
Yonari Flores
Smoky Mountain | Forward | Junior
Flores has tallied six goals and six assists.
