Despite rainy weather Aug. 21, the Western North Carolina region isn't actually expected to see much inclement weather this weekend.
In fact, in much of the region, including the areas directly surrounding Asheville, the National Weather Service's predictions don't call for any rain at all after Friday - though rain on Friday could be quite heavy for some, forecasts show.
As we head into this weekend, here's what to know in WNC.
Is it expected to rain this weekend in Asheville, NC? Western NC?
While heavy rain is expected Aug. 21 in the Asheville area, with a 50-60% chance of precipitation throughout the day and night expected to bring up to .75 inches in some areas, this inclement weather is largely expected to blow past us by the weekend proper.
In the Hendersonville area, a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms
is predicted Saturday after 2 p.m. and before the nighttime hours. In the Asheville area, foggy spells are the closest to inclement weather we're expected to see this weekend.
