Reynolds baseball's Duncan Carver announced his commitment to North Carolina on Aug. 26 via Instagram.
"I am incredibly thankful for everyone who has helped me along the way, but especially my family," Carver wrote. "I also want to thank the Panthers Organization, Coach Staicar and my ACR coaches, Coby, and my friends! I wouldn't be where I am today without all of you."
Carver was one of the top pitchers in Western North Carolina last season as a sophomore. He went 9-1 with a 2.08 ERA and struck out 85 batters. He helped the Rockets advance to the fourth round of the NCHSAA 6A playoffs, where they fell to South Caldwell.
Carver is the third WNC baseball pitcher to commit to an ACC school in the past two months. Roberson's Holt Gaston committed
to North Carolina State on July 18, and North Buncombe's Kameron Keenan announced his commitment to Virginia Tech on July 27.
