President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are set to visit the Charlotte region later this week, with Trump set to speak at a campaign rally for a North Carolina U.S. Senate candidate.
Trump will appear at a campaign rally in support of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Michael Whatley. In a Sept. 10 Facebook post, Whatley stated that he was "thrilled to welcome" the president to Gastonia.
Melania Trump will also be traveling to North Carolina. According to local news reports, the first lady will visit Ashe County Tuesday, Sept. 15, to speak on "community resiliency and education technology in American schools."
The visit will mark Melania Trump's first visit to the Tar Heel State since January 2025.
