There are only a handful of weeks left until the 2026 North Carolina high school football season postseason begins.
There are only three undefeated teams left after Tuscola lost to Franklin on Oct. 2.
Here are our Super 10 WNC high school football rankings ahead of Week 8.

1. Hendersonville (6-0, 2-0 Western Highlands Conference)
Running back Jordan Buford led the Bearcats to a 42-7 win vs. Madison. He ran for 74 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries and caught two passes for 59 yards and a touchdown.
This week: vs. Owen (4-3). Last week: No. 1.
2. Franklin (7-0, 4-0 Mountain Eight Conference)
Quarterback Anderson Terrell arguably had his best game as a Panther in a 42-33 win vs. Tuscola
on Oct. 2. He completed 13 of 20 passes for 246 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 50 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Franklin remained undefeated with his help.
This week: vs. North Henderson (2-5). Last week: No. 3.
3. Asheville High (5-1, 1-0 Mountain Athletic Conference)
Running back Clement Davidson helped the Cougars take control of the Mountain Athletic Conference championship race with a 23-21 win vs. Roberson. He ran for 167 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries and threw a 47-yard touchdown pass.
This week: vs. Reynolds (2-4). Last week: No. 5.
4. Enka (6-0, 1-0 Mountain Athletic Conference)
The Jets scored 30 points in the second quarter to help them overcome a slow start during a 57-36 win vs. North Buncombe last week. Running back Tommy McKinney ran for 175 yards and four touchdowns on 13 carries in the victory.
This week: vs. Erwin (3-3). Last week: No. 6.
5. Tuscola (6-1, 3-1 Mountain Eight Conference)
The Mountaineers came up short against the No. 2 Franklin in a 42-33 shootout on Oct. 2. Running back Sam Trantham recorded 214 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 40 carries in the loss.
This week: at Pisgah (4-3). Last week: No. 2.
6. Roberson (4-2, 0-1 Mountain Athletic Conference)
Quarterback Karod Harris completed 15 of 19 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions while running for 100 yards on 11 carries in a narrow 23-21 loss vs. No. 3 Asheville High last week.
This week: at North Buncombe (4-2). Last week: No. 4.
7. Asheville School (4-2)
Running back Shiloh Mukendi still ranks fourth in the country in rushing yards with 1,609 after an open week during Week 7.
This week: vs. High Point Christian Academy (5-1). Last week: No. 7.
8. Christ School (5-1)
The Greenies return to action against Charlotte Christian following an open week. They close the season vs. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, Metrolina Christian Academy and Cannon.
This week: vs. Charlotte Christian (2-3). Last week: No. 8.
9. Smoky Mountain (6-1, 3-1 Mountain Eight Conference)
The Mustangs bounced back from a Week 6 loss to Tuscola with a 62-0 win vs. Brevard on Oct. 2. Quarterback Jaxon Cooper was 5 for 5 for 64 yards and a touchdown and ran for 138 yards and two touchdowns on six carries in the victory.
This week: at West Henderson (3-3). Last week: No. 9.
10. Mitchell (5-2, 2-1 Western Highlands Conference)
The Mountaineers rejoin the top 10 after winning two straight games against Polk County 48-13 and Owen 36-15. Running backs Elijah Gregory and AJ Mackey tallied four touchdowns combined in the victory over the Warhorses last week.
This week: Open. Last week: Not ranked.
