The first month of the 2026 Western North Carolina high school fall sports season has come and gone.
It's time to vote for this month's AdventHealth Western North Carolina boys Team of the Month.
Vote for the WNC boys team that had the best performance this month. The poll closes on Sept. 3 at 1 p.m.
Roberson football: The Rams have started out the 2026 season undefeated, going 2-0 against Huss and defending state champion Watauga, whom they defeated 41-14 on Aug. 28.
Hendersonville football: The Bearcats have started the new season by defeating two Henderson County rivals in East Henderson and West Henderson. They defeated the latter 33-7 in a rain-soaked affair.
Asheville High football: Asheville High has defeated East Rutherford 53-22 and Dobyns-Bennett
(Tenn.) 32-31 to start the season. The Cougars defeated the Indians by blocking a potential game-winning field goal on Aug. 28.
Franklin football: Franklin secured wins against Murphy 42-7 and Robbinsville 31-7. The first win against the Bulldogs came without star running back/linebacker Garrett Young
Reynolds soccer: The Rockets have an undefeated 7-0 record through the first month of the season. Their best wins were a 2-1 victory over Owen, a 4-0 win over Patton and a 6-2 victory against John Paul II Catholic.
Smoky Mountain soccer: The Mustangs have started the season 5-0. They have a 3-1 win vs. Owen and a 3-1 victory over North Buncombe.
Polk County soccer: The Wolverines are 4-0 so far. Goalkeeper Charlie Wagoner leads the team, and they have beaten Patton and West Henderson.
Enka soccer: Enka is 4-0 to start the 2026 season. It has only allowed two goals so far and is outscoring opponents 17-2.
