The 2026 Western North Carolina high school volleyball season is past the halfway point.
Five top-10 matchups are on the schedule this week, including a top-five matchup between Cherokee and West Henderson.
Here are the WNC high school volleyball Super 10 rankings after Week 6.
1. Franklin (18-0)
Outside hitter Emmy Moffitt continued her impressive freshman season in a 3-1 win vs. No. 10 Brevard on Sept. 17. She recorded 17 kills, a block and eight digs.
This week: vs. Murphy (Sept. 21), at Pisgah (Sept. 22), vs. Tuscola (Sept. 24). Previous ranking: No. 1.
2. West Henderson (15-1)
The Falcons have dropped only five sets all season; more than half came in a 3-2 loss to No. 1 Franklin on Sept. 10.
This week: vs. East Henderson (Sept. 22), vs. Pisgah (Sept. 24), vs. No. 6 Roberson (Sept. 25),
vs. Alexander Central (Sept. 25), vs. Asheville High (Sept. 26), vs. No. 5 Cherokee (Sept. 26). Previous ranking: No. 2.
3. Asheville Christian Academy (11-4)
The Lions split their matches against No. 4 Owen and No. 10 Brevard. They fell to the Blue Devils 3-0 and defeated the Warhorses 3-2. Middle hitter Olivia Johnson racked up 21 kills and four aces in the victory against Owen.
This week: vs. Carolina Day (Sept. 22), vs. No. 10 Brevard (Sept. 23). Previous ranking: No. 5.
4. Owen (10-3)
Middle hitter Adeline West tallied 12 kills, six blocks and six digs in a 3-2 loss vs. No. 3 Asheville Christian Academy on Sept. 15.
This week: vs. Polk County (Sept. 22), at Enka (Sept. 23), vs. Avery County (Sept. 24). Previous ranking: No. 4.
5. Cherokee (16-5)
Setter Lilly Lossiah had 26 assists to help the Braves secure a 3-1 win vs. Murphy on Sept. 17.
This week: at Swain County (Sept. 22), at Hayesville (Sept. 24), at Hickory (Sept. 25), at Asheville High (Sept. 25), at No. 6 Roberson (Sept. 26), at No. 2 West Henderson (Sept. 26). Previous ranking: No. 7.
6. Roberson (12-5)
The Rams fell to West Henderson and Reynolds to open Week 6. They then bounced back, defeating Asheville High 3-2.
This week: vs. North Buncombe (Sept. 22), at Erwin (Sept. 24), at No. 2 West Henderson (Sept. 25), vs. Alexander Central (Sept. 25), at Polk County (Sept. 26), vs. No. 5 Cherokee (Sept. 26). Previous ranking: No. 3.
7. Smoky Mountain (11-3)
The Mustangs rebounded from a 3-1 loss against Murphy with victories against Pisgah and East Henderson.
This week: at Andrews (Sept. 21), vs. Tuscola (Sept. 22), at No. 10 Brevard (Sept. 24). Previous ranking: No. 6.
8. Hendersonville (12-6)
Middle hitter Emory Freeman has racked up 137 kills, averaging nearly three kills per set. She has also collected 31 blocks. Setter Shelbie Cannon has recorded 309 assists, or 5.7 per set.
This week: at Mitchell (Sept. 22). Previous ranking: Unranked.
9. Reynolds (15-7)
Middle hitter Keana Smith tallied 27 kills and five blocks to lead the Rockets to a 3-2 win over No. 6 Roberson on Sept. 15.
This week: vs. Asheville High (Sept. 22), at North Buncombe (Sept. 24). Previous ranking: No. 8.
10. Brevard (10-9)
Outside hitter Macy Rogers and setter Megan Pressley combined for 20 kills to guide the Blue Devils to a sweep over No. 3 Asheville Christian Academy.
This week: vs. North Henderson (Sept. 22), at No. 3 Asheville Christian Academy (Sept. 23), vs. No. 7 Smoky Mountain (Sept. 24). Previous ranking: Unranked.
