Several Week 1 Western North Carolina high school football games have been moved up to Thursday, Aug. 20 with a strong chance of thunderstorms on Aug. 21.
Most affected games involve WNC teams playing opponents from outside the region, including schools in Rutherford and Gaston counties. Owen at Rosman is the only game between two WNC teams moved up to Thursday, Aug. 20.

McDowell at R-S Central at 7:30 p.m.
Owen at Rosman at 7:30 p.m.
Polk County at Chase at 7:30 p.m.
Roberson at Huss at 7:30 p.m.
