Carowinds, an amusement park located directly on the border between North and South Carolina, is bringing back its popular annual Halloween celebration.
During the Halloween season, the Carowinds park transforms into "SCarowinds," which features all of the same beloved rides with the addition of a number of spooky seasonal attractions. This year, its website counts 17 of them, including eight experiences that are new this year.
The SCarowinds season lasts slightly under two months, and specific tickets are needed to enjoy the seasonal bonuses brought to the park by this yearly programming. Additionally, age restrictions may apply and SCarowinds only operates at certain times on specific days of the week.

What is SCarowinds?

Every year during the Halloween season, Carowinds amusement park transforms into "the ultimate scream park" in one of the largest Halloween events held in the Carolinas, including 17 haunted attractions such as haunted mazes, scare zones, shows and its newer "The Conjuring: Beyond Fear" immersive experience.
New SCarowinds attractions 2026
According to the Six Flags website, the 2026 SCarowinds season includes eight new experiences. The total list of SCarowinds attractions this year includes:
- Jason: Blood Reign (haunted maze)
- Carnevil (scare zone)
- Lost Souls (scare zone)
- Restricted (scare zone)
- The Resurgence (opening show)
- Blade Drummers (show)
- Sinister Slide Squad (show)
- Incantations with the Enchantress (show)
- The Conjuring: Beyond Fear (immersive experience)
When is SCarowinds?
SCarowinds 2026 runs on select nights from Sept. 11 to Nov. 1. Operating hours for 2026 are:
- Thursdays: 6 p.m.-midnight
- Fridays: 6 p.m.-midnight
- Saturdays: 7 p.m.-midnight
- Sundays: 7-11 p.m.
How much are SCarowinds tickets? Where can I buy SCarowinds tickets?
Tickets to the park on SCarowinds nights, including access to haunted mazes, start at $55. A pass for entry to just the SCarowinds Haunted Mazes starts at $10. Additionally, SCarowinds' "The Conjuring: Beyond Fear" immersive experience is priced starting at $15.

Where is SCarowinds?
SCarowinds is located at the Carowinds park. The state line between North and South Carolina runs directly through the park, but more of the park and its official address, at 14523 Carowinds Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28273, are located in the Tar Heel State.
