Fall isn't quite here in Western North Carolina, and temperature predictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and National Weather Service this week prove that point.
The fall season begins in under a month, starting Tuesday, Sept. 22. Though it is less than a month away, and temperatures in the Western N.C. region have been a bit cooler in recent weeks, temperatures in the area are expected to jump again this week, creating a particularly hot several days in store for residents and visitors.
Though high temperatures are predicted in the region, there is little precipitation predicted in forecasts, with the highest chances in Asheville currently placed on Friday night, Sept. 4, when a 40% chance of showers is estimated
for part of the evening.

How hot will it be in Asheville, Western NC this week?
According to Monday, Aug. 31, predictions from the National Weather Service, temperatures in the Asheville area are expected to peak Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 2-3, when daytime high temperatures are expected to reach 92 degrees.
How long will it be hot in Asheville, NC?
The weather service out of Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina, which also issues predictions for Western N.C., posted on Facebook Sunday, Aug. 30, warning that above-normal temperatures have a 50-70% chance of sticking around through "at least mid-September" throughout much of the nation.
