FAIRVIEW ― A Fairview woman is dead after being struck by a hit-and-run driver, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol is searching for the driver.
Amber Michelle Hudgens, 29, was killed shortly after 8:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, on Cane Creek Road in Fairview, First Sgt. Robby Baker told the Citizen Times on Tuesday.
Hudgens' car had broken down and she was on the road when she was hit by a small, red car, Baker said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Highway Patrol was working Tuesday to identify the driver, who left the scene, Baker said.
No further information was released.
