Hundreds of thousands of people lost power afterHurricane Isaias made landfall not far from Destin, Florida, on Saturday, Oct. 10, around 9:30 p.m.
Within an hour of landfall, around 560,000 customers were without power in Florida and Alabama, and reports of more power outages across the Deep South began to come in as the remnants of Isaias moved north and heavy rains and thunderstorms spread out across communities in the Carolinas.
Meteorologists continue to warn of potential flooding and high winds in Western North Carolina, which could lead to power outages. Thousands of customers in the North Carolina mountains are already reporting power outages in their communities.
