ASHEVILLE - A teenager wanted in connectionwith two separate shootings in Asheville turned himself in to police, the Asheville Police Department said.
Danvonte Pearson, 16, was wanted in connection with both a shooting on April 26, and a related shooting on July 5, police said.
On April 26, APD officers went to a home on Atkinson Street at Hillcrest Apartments at around 3:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a person who had been shot, police said.
The victim, Damien Dean, 36, of Asheville, had been shot once in the leg and was taken to Mission Hospital, APD Capt. Joe Silberman told the Citizen Times Sept. 14.
On July 5, at Maple Crest Apartments on Lee Garden Lane, another man was shot in the shoulder.
That shooting was later connected to a shooting on Biltmore
Avenue on July 19 that killed two people, Lamarius Jones, 22, and Marques Davis Jr., 24, and injured seven others, Silberman said.
Marqua Amryie Lamar Davis, 19, was charged in the July 5 shooting with multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed gun and injury to personal property in relation to that shooting.
Pearson has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, possession of a weapon of mass destruction, attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and injury to personal property.
