FAIRVIEW - An Arden man has been arrested and accused ofhitting and killing a woman with a vehicle on Sept. 21 in Fairview, according to court records.
Aaron Lee Rogers, 36, was charged in the death of Amber Michelle Hudgens, 29, who was struck by a vehicle shortly after 8:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, on Cane Creek Road in Fairview. Hudgens' white Toyota Corolla had broken down and Hudgens was standing in the road at the time she was hit, N.C. Highway Patrol said at the time.
The vehicle that struck Hudgens was identified as a red 2012 Subaru Impreza registered to a man who lives with Rogers, according to a search warrant executed Oct. 1 by Trooper J.B. Owenby.
Rogers is alleged to have been driving the vehicle that killed Hudgens, according to the search
warrant.
A little over half an hour after Hudgens was killed, at 8:51 p.m., troopers were called to the second wreck on Gap Creek Road. The second wreck occurred about a mile from where Hudgens was hit, according to another search warrant written by Trooper David Reid. When troopers arrived at the scene of the second wreck on Gap Creek Road, the Subaru had been abandoned, Reid wrote.
Rogers was arrested Oct. 8 and charged with felony hit and run and possession of methamphetamine. He also was charged with several misdemeanors: no operator's license, resisting a public officer, hit and run leaving the scene with property damage and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $140,000 secured, according to jail records.
