The 2026 North Carolina high school football regular season is halfway over.
Here are the top performers in Western North Carolina high school football in Week 5.
Zane Cheuvront, Avery County: Cheuvront ran for 299 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries in a 45-34 win vs. Madison.
Kolton Wise, Avery County: Wise caught four passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in the win.
Mateo Archer, Hendersonville: Archer caught two passes for 50 yards and a touchdown and recorded an interception in a 20-7 win vs. Mitchell.
Gianni Thompson, Hendersonville: Thompson caught five passes for 46 yards and a touchdown in the win.
Jaylon Wynn, Hendersonville: Wynn caught
three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown in the victory.
JaRon Ward, Hendersonville: Ward completed 14 of 20 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 43 yards on 12 carries in the win.
Easton Greene, Madison: Greene completed 6 of 14 passes for 76 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries in a 45-34 loss vs. Avery County.
Triston Massey, Madison: Massey ran for 148 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in the loss.
Owen Woody, Mitchell: Woody ran for 111 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.
Jake Durbin, Tuscola: Durbin recorded an interception in a 56-28 win against West Henderson.
John Hansen, Tuscola: Hansen had an interception in the victory.
Isaiah Hyatt, Tuscola: Hyatt completed 9 of 11 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown in the win.
Sam Trantham, Tuscola: Trantham rushed for 275 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries and threw an 8-yard passing touchdown in the victory.
Rylee Smith, Smoky Mountain: Smith ran for three touchdowns in a 41-0 win vs. East Henderson.
