Alejandro Tosti returned with a new caddie for the second round of the Biltmore Championship on Sept. 18.
Patrick Talledo is Tosti's new caddie, according to an updated list released by the PGA during the second round.
Tosti needed a new caddie after Cliff Ellis, who he started the tournament, abruptly walked off the 18th green
during the first round on Sept. 17. Tosti shot 1-over par 71 in the first round at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.Tosti, a 30-year old golfer from Argentina, played in a group with Luke Clanton and Spencer Oxendine and started at 8:59 a.m. from the 10th tee. He was closing out the front nine at the 18th hole when caddie Cliff Ellis dropped the bag, took off his caddie bib and walked off the course.
"He couldn't keep up with eight
pars in a row," Totsi joked when reached for comment by Golfweek, referencing his start to the round.
Tosti and Ellis had butted heads during the practice round on Sept. 15, Golfweek said. But Tosti was surprised by Ellis' departure. He thought Ellis was simply using the bathroom when he left the 18th green.
Known to be a fiery competitor, Tosti has admitted publicly in the past that he can sometimes let his emotions get the best of him. He entered this weekend ranked 186th in the FedEx Cup fall standings.
Tosti will teed off his second round from the first hole at 1:49 p.m., looking to avoid the cut line.
