The Trump Administration is delivering $873 million in emergency relief funding to help finish the continued rebuilt effort in Western North Carolina.
The funds are part of a $1.6 billion nationwide relief package that will speed up critical repairs to roads, bridges, and other transportation infrastructure damaged through the region, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced in a press release.

In total, the Federal Highway Administration has invested $3.4 billion across all states impacted by Tropical Storm Helene, with $2.9 billion to North Carolina alone, the press release said.
The 2024 storm damaged over 9,000 sites and resulted in more than 1,400 road closures in the Tar Heel State.
