Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg won’t have to wait too long to walk the walk when it comes to Dillon Brooks of the Phoenix Suns.
On a recent live Instagram stream, Lendeborg was asked about facing Brooks this season.
“I’m finna give Dillon Brooks belt, stop playing bruh,” Lendeborg said, as he was wearing a Michigan Wolverines jacket.
Lendeborg led the Wolverines to a national championship this past season.
The Warriors will face the Phoenix Suns in their second game of the season Oct. 24 at Mortgage Matchup Center.
This will be Phoenix’s home opener.
Lendeborg, the 11th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, won NBA Summer League MVP in leading the Warriors to the summer league championship.
Dallas Mavericks forward Klay Thompson also mentioned
Brooks in a recent post that drew attention.
“I hate to say his name, but Dillon Brooks is a great defender,” Thompson said.
When a laughing PlaqueBoyMax, a streamer with 1.2 million followers on IG, asked why, Thompson said, “Dillon is a troll.”
Thompson added, “He trolls more than anyone. I’ll give him his credit. You respect the guys, it’s hard to bring it every night. So you got to respect those who do it.”
