Description: Cowboy Seafood, the long-awaited surf-and-smoke restaurant in central Phoenix, is inching closer to opening.
Common Ground Culinary, which is behind the new dining concept and a handful of other popular high-end restaurants in the Valley, has been active on social media recently to tease the new eatery’s opening.
On Instagram on Sept. 17, the Arizona-based restaurant management company posted a video of Chef Christopher Collins announcing that “Central Phoenix’s new favorite restaurant is coming sooner than you think.”
“We can’t wait to show you what we’re all about. Competition-level barbecue meets an elevated raw bar program,”
Common Ground wrote in another post on Sept. 18.
To achieve that goal, Collins has been tasked with combining seafood dishes, including a raw bar and fresh cuts of fish, and slow-smoked meats.
While construction crews have continued to work on the project, fencing along the site has been removed, hinting that the restaurant is nearly complete.
History: Common Ground Culinary first announced Cowboy Seafood’s concept and arrival at the Park Central development in November 2025. At the time, the restaurant was expected to open this past spring.
Cowboy Seafood will sit near the entrance of the complex and fit into a 5,000-square-foot space, enough room for 80 guests indoors and 80 on the patio.
When will the work be done? Common Ground hasn’t provided a more specific opening timeline other than to state that Cowboy Seafood will open soon. A company spokesperson did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment on Sept. 18.
